Botanic Gardens

Founded by Sir Stamford Raffles, Botanic Garden first began on Government Hill in 1819. Singapore Botanic Gardens has played an important role in Singapore’s cultural, social and economic development.

You’re just about to discover more about this number one park in Asia located at 1 Cluny Road that’s appealing to everyone so follow me closely! Welcome to the only botanic garden in the world that opens from 5 a.m. to 12 midnight yearly and does not charge an admission fee, except for the National Orchid Garden. With SGD$5.00, what waits for you are more than 60,000 plants and orchids such as the Tiger Orchid and Golden Shower.

Tiger Orchard (Rarely seen!)

Golden Shower (Yellow plants on the arches)

It is a paradise showcase of tropical orchids amidst a fine profusion of lush tropical greenery. There is a cascading fountain with an iconic pair of Crane sculptures at its peak. The fountain is set against a royal backdrop of marvellous trees and palms, luxuriant shrubs and a myriad of colourful orchids.

This is Singapore’s best as you can’t find a quiet place that has so much greenery and is affordable since most parts of Singapore’s land is built with commercial buildings or houses and most hangout places are expensive. On top of that, there are a lot of historical landmarks such as the Swan sculpture and many other sculptures such as the 'Girl on a Swing (1984)' and the 'Changkuda'.

The Botanic Gardens reflects a unique Singapore Spirit, which is the idea of staying together, as many of you will have or had a whale of a time, together with your family and friends, away from the bustling and hustling of the city that is so near yet so far away thanks to the breathtaking scenery that screams tranquility as the diverse floral culture carries you in its arms and let you on a whole new perspective of what beauty is. And I’m sure you’ll never want to let go of its embrace.

I’m grateful for the Botanic Gardens as it does not matter whether we’re a tourist or local as the radiance that this park emits will make everyone feel belonged; like we're at home just like how the different types of flowers and trees blend in so well with the captivating scenery in this urban oasis. It brings everyone from all parts of the island together for its concerts, scenery and flowers and yet it does not burn a hole in our pockets.
