Clarke Quay

Clarke Quay in the past
From 1873 to 1875, Clarke Quay played a key role in positioning Singapore as the main port for the Malay states of Perak,Selangor and Singei Ujong.

Today, many of the restored warehouses house various restaurants and nightclubs.

Clarke Quay is a place anyone should go, be it tourists or even locals! The night scenary is amazing, vibrate lights with a the atmosphere of a carnival.
Clarke Quay today

My family and I decided to pay a visit to Clarke Quay, witnessing the amazing nightlife. The entire stretch of the Clarke Quay felt like a carnival, vibrate lights lighitng of the river. We strolled around, looking at shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. The discos/nightclubs come to live as party goers lined up to enter. People sat along the bridge drinking while watching road side performers perform. There are live bands in most bars doing different genres of music, from country rock to even jazz.
8 different flavours of meat consisting of wine, garli, herb, curry and others!

We stopped by at '8 Korean BBQ' for dinner. 8 Korean BBQ launched at Clarke Quay and offers a selection of tantalizing premium BBQ meats in a sleek industrial chic settings. E!GHT is named after its eponymous 8 Colours Set, which features thick, scrumptious slices of Mangalitsa pork belly in an array of flavours. For the beef aficionado, the restaurant served only USDA Prime and Kagoshima Wagyu, which is famed for its melt-in-your-mouth texture. With a well-trained team at the full-service BBQ Korean restaurant,we simply sit back, enjoy our favourite drink and conversation whilst the food is expertly prepared for us at our table.
Clarke Quay definitely reflects the unique Singapore spirit as brings people together; a family dinner at restaurants, relaxing with friends/colleges together at the bar, or just partying and having fun in the nightclub with others. Clarke Quay is to be restored to its past glory. Those who walk there to enjoy the restaurants and other attractions will bring life to sleepy Clarke Quay.

I am grateful for it as, Clarke Quay is a reminder of the boatmen who toiled day and night to make Singapore the centre of entrepot trade in South-east Asia and also of the enterprising merchants who made this possible.
