Located on Kent Ridge Hill, Kent Ridge Park is a 47-hectare park which contains a rich history. In February 1942, one of the most memorable battles of World War 2 was fought on Kent Ridge Hill, between the Malay regiment and the Japanese forces. It was known as the Battle at Bukit Chandu. The park was officially opened in 1954 and was named one of the 11 World War 2 sites in Singapore. The Park itself boasted a vibrant wildlife, which includes many species of plants, birds and animals. It even has a 280 meter long canopy walk for people to enjoy the scenery and wildlife. I often visit the park as it is only a stone’s throw away from my house. I usually utilise the large fitness corner that the park provides for exercise and the multipurpose court for playing soccer. For anyone who is seeking a place to relax and forget time, I assure You that Kent Ridge Park is the place for you.
