Nasi Lemak

I woke up with a sudden need to eat Nasi Lemak today. And what other place to satisfy my hunger for this tasty Singaporean dish than to go to one of the best Nasi Lemak hawker stalls in Singapore, Selera Rasa Nasi Lemak at Adam Road Hawker Centre.
This stall is located at the hawker centre at the road junction of Adam Road and Dunearn Road. It opens from 7am in the morning to 5pm. Most other stalls are not opened at such an early time in the morning but when I got there, there were at least 20 people in the queue already! There were many stalls in that same hawker centre that sold the same thing for a cheaper price, but people insisted on getting Nasi Lemak from this famous stall.
I waited for half an hour in the queue when I finally got my food. I ordered the Full House. It is a set meal with cucumber, fried egg, sambal, otah (a spicy fish paste wrap in banana leaf), crispy chicken wings, and fragrant basmati rice.  The fried egg’s yolk was not very runny, but it had a nice custardy texture which was delightful. The sambal was sweet yet spicy, it complements the basmati rice very well, but I hoped it could be a tad less sweet as it was too sweet for me. This stall used premium basmati rice which is long and fluffy with a light texture and the rice has a pleasant coconut fragrance. The crispy chicken wing is one of the best that I ever had, the skin is crispy and a nice golden-brown, and the inside was cooked to perfection. Moist and juicy and comes off the bone easily. This meal goes well with a glass of sugar cane juice and left me licking my lips and wanting for more.

I believe this is the best Nasi Lemak in town because this Nasi Lemak has won countless awards, the sultan of Brunei always takeaways his food to eat at the embassy when he comes to Singapore! Also, this Nasi Lemak stall was featured in the Gordon Ramsay Hawker Heroes challenge.
